Delaware Wedding Florist: Masquerade Inspired Editorial Shoot

The idea of a masquerade inspired editorial photo shoot has been in my head for some time now.  One day while I was having lunch with Kylene Cleaver of Leave It to Me Photography, I told her about my vision.  She became giddy with joy and told me that she would love to capture my idea in film.  From there, everything just fell in place for this editorial shoot.

Let me start with how this crazy (or as Kylene calls it “genius”) idea came to be in my head.  First, I must admit to my guilty pleasure of reading historical romance novels.  Yup, I love them!  In the majority of the novels, there always seems to be a masquerade ball where everyone gets dressed up and wears a mask.  It adds a sense of mystery, intrigue, and romance!  This was where my inspiration began.  I wanted to find a way to keep those feelings while using flowers and greens to create a bridal masquerade look.

To go along with my vision, we selected the “Vivian” gown by Matthew Christopher from Jennifer’s Bridal.  Can I just tell you how stunning this dress was?!  All of the seams had tiny little pearls!  It had the simplest yet regal style that I wanted for this shoot.  Adding an extra touch of glam, we also borrowed these gorgeous earrings and bracelet by Haute Bride from Jennifer’s Bridal.

When deciding on a color palette, I decided that I wanted to use marsala, which is the Pantone color of the year, and some pinks and blushes with a touch of gold.  Pantone describes marsala as a “naturally robust and earthy wine red.”  I consider it a burgundy or dark red/fuschia.  This kept with the richness and depth that I wanted to portray in the photos.  I added burgundy feathers and rose gold wire for different textures and to add some whimsy.

Personally, I love a cascading bouquet…. so that is the style that I went with for this shoot.  It definitely added drama, and it was perfect with this incredible bridal gown!  To top everything off, the mask enhanced the mystery of the look.

Jen Terrell of Jen’s Hair Creations did a breathtaking job on Kathleen’s hair and makeup!  We also could not have asked for a more ideal location than the Buena Vista Mansion!  The mansion and grounds are fabulous!

I hope that you enjoyed all of the gorgeousness captured by Kylene Cleaver of Leave It to Me Photography!  It was amazing to see something in my head come to life!  I hope that these pictures inspire you for your wedding.  Contact me today to schedule your floral consultation.

Delaware Wedding Florist: Blush by Hayley Paige Trunk Show at Jennifer’s Bridal

One of my favorite designers that Jennifer’s Bridal carries is Hayley Paige.  Her dresses are timeless with a unique flair.  About a week ago, Jennifer’s Bridal had a trunk show for the Spring 2015 line of Blush by Hayley Paige.  The dresses did not disappoint!

The inspiration for the floral arrangements came from the photo shoot for Hayley Paige‘s new line.  It took place on a tropical island.  So, what’s better than gorgeous orchids, king protea, pink ginger, gloriosa, and lush greenery.  I loved manipulating the ferns by braiding and weaving them to add different textures to the design.

Delaware Wedding Florist: Ti Adora Trunk Show & White Sale at Jennifer’s Bridal

Last week I posted pictures from Jennifer’s Bridal of beautiful floral arrangements made out of lush greenery.  In honor of the White Sale that is currently taking place, I decided to spruce up the floral table runner with a pop of color.  Check out the transformation of the same table runner by just adding flowers.

Today is the last day of the White Sale where they have samples at over 50% off! If you haven’t made your appointment yet, you better do it now! The Ti Adora by Alvina Valenta Trunk Show runs through April 26th.

Bucks County Wedding Florist: Floral Stylized Photo Shoot with Melissa & Katie

Spring is FINALLY here!  With that said, I was inspired by the Kentucky Derby for this floral stylized photo shoot.  I wanted to design and create floral hats and jewelry that could be worn at a horse race or race party.

Tradition says that wearing hats brings good luck to the races.  Why not wear a FABULOUS hat!  Shouldn’t it bring even more luck?!

I had so much fun making these floral fascinators and jewelry!  Melissa and Katie were great models and able to capture the essence of the theme!  The pictures were taken at the beautiful gardens at Byers’ Choice Ltd. and downtown Doylestown.

If you’re not attending one of the Triple Crown races, there are a bunch of local horse races including Winterthur Point-to-Point and the Devon Horse Show & Country Fair.

These floral fascinators are reminiscent of the styles of hats worn in England.  Floral jewelry is a great option to accessorize your favorite dress.

I am now taking orders for hats and jewelry designed and created out of fresh flowers and greens with your personal vision in mind.  Wearing one of these will make you stand out among the crowd!!!

Delaware Wedding Florist: Ti Adora Trunk Show at Jennifer’s Bridal

If you haven’t figured it out yet, I have an obsession with greenery.  I just LOVE all of the different textures!  For the Ti Adora by Alvina Valenta Trunk Show at Jennifer’s Bridal, I decided to use only greenery!  No flowers.

I started with a table runner made up of tons of textures and greens.  It looks gorgeous with just the greens, but it would look lovely with some flowers sprinkled in.  This table runner is 5 feet long and drapes over the ends of the table.

The last time that I was in A.C. Moore, I saw these embroidery hoops and I knew that I had to use them in a floral arrangement.  This is what I came up with.

I feel that these lush floral designs define the meaning of texture and compliment the beautiful Ti Adora by Alvina Valenta bridal gowns.  Jennifer’s Bridal will have the Ti Adora gowns in store until April 26th.  These dresses cost $2,000 or less, and during the trunk show, there is a 10% discount!

Also, on April 16th and 17th, Jennifer’s Bridal is having their first ever White Sale. They will have over 50 samples marked down to 50% or more.

To schedule your appointment for the trunk show or the white sale, contact Jennifer’s Bridal today.  For a full list of upcoming trunk shows, please check out their events page.

If you’re looking for a unique, designer wedding gown, then Jennifer’s Bridal is the best place to go!  They are a great boutique bridal shop in Hockessin, Delaware.  And as always, I would love to schedule a floral design consultation for your wedding or special event.  Call me today at (302) 691-5525.  Have a great weekend!
